Riding Miss Daysie
I purchased my mare, Daysie, at the beginning of April with high show ring ambitions. Daysie came from a woman who did not show, but had schooled her up to the second level. I have always been a hard worker, and a go-getter, and had every intention of showing 2nd level for the majority of the summer, ideally hitting a 3rd level test at the end.
How I expeceted to be ready to show at the top of my own ability, as well as my new mare's ability, is lost on me. I have been in the industry long enough to know that nothing happens overnight, regardless of how hard you work. So after a month of riding, realizing how out of shape my mare and I were, and hock injections, I have swallowed my pride and entered her for our first show together at training level.
